Managing Director Mr. Vince Schepis with Group Marketing Manager Andrew Lomax has worked closely with the factory and the Ironstone brand of OTR tyres for over four years in ongoing product development and specifically compound development.

Ironstone has an arrangement in Malaysia with a rubber-blending company so we can ensure the correct compounds are offered to our clients through the production process. Too often with Chinese OTR tyres; only base rubber product is produced; and in many cases OTR tyres are produced with only one rubber compound. We import and distribute genuine Ironstone manufactured product under the brand ‘Ironstone’. By importing under his own brand name Mr Schepis and Ironstone are always aware of the genuine nature of the product.

Ironstone History

Ironstone began its alternative OTR tyre journey in 2004-2005; its focus was specifically on Russian and Chinese manufacturers. From this period Ironstone decided to develop it's relationship with Chinese manufacturers based on the then "low-base" that alternative OTR tyres were available from in China. The determining factor was a belief that in the huge economic growth phase China was undertaking; the subsequent efforts to produce a competitive OTR tyre would be exposed. We believed that once there was a clear definition of which Chinese manufacturers produced a bias ply tyre that worked appropriately; it would form the basis of the development of a radial OTR tyre. Whilst Ironstone acknowledges that the initial Chinese OTR radial tyres will need modifications and improvement; we believe that it won't take too long for radial OTR tyres from China to compete with current major manufacturers. Ironstone has made every effort to assist the factory in the design and manufacture of first bias ply, and now radial OTR tyres.
